CLOSE TO NEXT PHASE

I’m very close to finishing up the dead coloring stage. My patience hasn’t been too great this week and I’ve been rushing through some of the color mixing and painting, which in turn is yielding poor results in some areas. If I can get my head back into the game during the next phase I should be able to correct everything and bring the painting up to higher standards.

I did a photo shoot a few nights ago with the same model who posed for this painting (the upper figure). Her name is Val and she did a wonderful job coming up with some great poses for a new painting I plan to start soon. I ordered a canvas – I think this time I got a 24″ x 36″ belgium linen (I’ve been painting on 36″ x 48″ cotton canvas for the last two). I also had to order some more paint.

Also I bid on a camera on eBay. I have two nice cameras, but this new one has over twice the resolution of my cameras, and it can use the same lenses. Why do I need a higher resolution camera? I’m thinking ahead to when I will need prints made of my paintings. I don’t want to have to send my paintings off to have prints made. I am hoping to be able to make the photographic reproduction files myself and then have prints made from my own files.
